The Path We Follow

Each project differs by the specific interior decorating and design needs of our residential and commercial clients. You may not require all of the design phases, but there is a general procession of steps that is routinely followed. They are as follows:

For all of our interior decorating and design projects

Initial Meeting » Meeting each other to insure a comfortable fit, discussing your interior design needs and our offerings and arrangements. This is always free of charge to you.

Design Project Analysis » Discussing, in detail, your interior design and decorating goals, preferences, lifestyle needs, and budget. Focusing on Architecture and Construction

Team Meeting » Project review and role clarification with house architect and general contractor

Initial Interior Design Concepts » We will develop loose interior design concepts presented in the form of sketches, photos, and /or material samples

Space Planning » Making sure the rooms flow properly and allowing for furniture placement, traffic flow, window treatments, and visual interest. Tilde Design Studio has spent years mastering this essential part of the interior design process. This step is usually in tandem with creating a lighting layout.

Architectural Finish Selections » Determining the overall feel of the space, what the interior finishes will be, and the general architectural color palette

Designing the Details » Custom architecture, cabinets, millwork, stairs, fireplaces, plumbing and light fixture selections

Interior Design Documents » Drafting of approved interior design details, Spreadsheet Schedules for fixed finishes, lighting, and plumbing fixtures, Project notebooks that organize, by category, the different design elements, Proposals for items being purchased through Tilde Design Studio.

Coordination » Drawing and spec coordination with the architect and builder, Clear communication with the homeowner throughout the process, On-site job visits to answer interior design questions and observe construction

Interior Space Planning » Drafting of the floor plan, analysis of traffic flow, sketching furniture layout alternates

Interior Decorating Selections » Shopping and designing furniture, decorative lamps, chandeliers, and wall sconces, fabrics, wallpapers and window treatment options, and presenting them to you

Interior Design Development » Further selections and scheme completion, Drafting of furnishings, Pricing of all items, including workroom and shop labor Presentation

Procurement » Creating itemized proposals for your clarity and signature, Purchasing and Order Tracking of furniture, fixtures, and finishes, Item inspection upon completion or receipt

Installation » On-site to supervise installation by delivery company and/or workrooms
