The Path We Follow

Each project differs by the specific needs of our clients. You may not require all of the phases, but there is a general procession of steps that is routinely followed. They are as follows:

For all of our projects

Initial Meeting > Meeting each other to insure a comfortable fit, discussing your needs and our offerings and arrangements. This is always free of charge to you.

Project Analysis > Discussing, in detail, your goals, preferences, lifestyle needs, and budget

Focusing on Architecture and Construction

Team Meeting > Project review and role clarification with architects and builders

Initial Design Concepts > We will develop loose concepts presented in the form of sketches, photos, and /or material samples

Space Planning > Making sure the rooms flow properly and allowing for furniture placement, traffic flow, window treatments, and visual interest. Tilde has spent years mastering this essential part of the process. This step is usually in tandem with creating a lighting layout.

Finish Selections > Determining the overall feel of the space, what the finishes will be, and the general color palette

Designing the Details > Architectural details, cabinetry, millwork, plumbing selections

Documentation > Drafting of approved designs, Spreadsheet Schedules for fixed finishes, lighting, and plumbing fixtures, Notebooks that organize, by category, the different design elements, Proposals for items being purchased through Tilde

Coordination > Drawing and spec coordination with the architect and builder, Clear communication with the homeowner throughout the process, On-site job visits to answer questions and observe construction

Finishing with Furnishings

Space Planning > Drafting of the floor plan, analysis of traffic flow, sketching furniture layout alternates

Initial Design Concepts > Shopping and designing furniture, light fixture, material and window treatment options, and presenting them to you

Design Development > Further selections and scheme completion, Drafting of furnishings, Pricing of all items, including workroom and shop labor, Presentation

Procurement > Creating itemized proposals for your clarity and signature, Purchasing and Order Tracking, Item inspection upon completion or receipt

Installation > On-site to supervise installation by delivery company and/or workrooms
