Who is Stephen Kohlbeck?

"Steve is a talented and conscientious designer. Over the past twelve years, he has worked with us to make our home into a mirror of our eclectic interests and travels. After our first few sessions, Steve was able to intuit our taste in materials, furniture, fabrics and colors and always presented us with wonderful options. I like working with him because the design effort was a collaboration of both our ideas and the results have been wonderful. Many people tell us how beautiful and unique our home is, and we can thank Steve for his guidance and bountiful creativity in helping us make it that way."

Stephen Kohlbeck started Tilde, Incorporated as an interiors and product development firm. Its goal is to provide its clientele with impeccable service and design.

With experience ranging from residential to retail to executive suites, Stephen has embellished personal value in client's homes; he has created environments for productivity, selling, impressing and stimulating; he creates kitchens that beckon for constant use. As implementer, he is available to stay involved with all projects, until completion, to foster design integrity and the highest possible quality.

Receiving his formal Interior Design training from the Colorado Institute of Art, graduating in 1989, he was educated in art, design, business and technology.

He began his career in Los Angeles with a full-scope design firm, involved in architectural, interior and landscape design for a residential and commercial clientele. Setting the foundation for the rest of his career, he fully understands the many elements involved in a construction project.

His intimate familiarity with the architecture and interior detailing means that the window treatments, furniture and accessories will compliment each other and reflect an understanding of the overall vision.

With an eye for detail, he has excelled in the specialty of object design. He has designed countless pieces of furniture for residential and commercial clients as well as production pieces for New Classics Creations - a to-the-trade nationally recognized furniture manufacturer. He has created display cases for private art collections, garden fountains, and monuments. Currently, he is designing a furniture collection which will be environmentally friendly, uniquely styled, and technologically sophisticated.

Stephen has also designed the backdrop for three art-focused fund raisers: a photography exhibition / silent auction for the Venice Family Clinic, an art expo and auction, raising funds for the Art Students League of Denver, and The Art of Tea Gala Dinner and Auction at the Denver Art Museum. He was also a selected Design Council member for the first annual Colorado Children's Hospital Foundation Design Show House.

"Stephen spent a lot of time up front getting to know our style and tastes so that he could effectively and efficiently guide us through the process.  If he couldn't find exactly what we were looking for, he was able to design it and have it custom built to meet our specifications.  Stephen was never imposing about his opinions.  We have a truly unique space now and are enjoying it thoroughly.  We most definitely plan to use him on future projects."
